The atmospheric Spectaculum
zu Worms is a medieval market in the green countryside, with
much music, show fights, old crafts and puppet theatre.
In
summer,
Landeck Castle in the southern extremity of
Rhineland-Palatinate offers a large medieval spectacle
together with a medieval children’s camp; later
in the year there is a medieval Christmas market.
The history of origins of the church and monastery
in Pfaffen-Schwabenheim around 1040 is re-enacted by
knights, counts and monks during the medieval monastery
festival. The worship service in historical garments
is also special.
Several different eras are seized on
during the History plays at the Ehrenbreitstein fortress
in Koblenz: Besides
knights there are also Romans as well as Vikings, Celts
and Prussians in very faithful garments.
