Rhineland-Palatinate
lies in the heart of Germany, well actually in the heart
of Europe. As early as Roman times trans-continental trade
routes crossed here and the Rhine was a water way of great
importance.
Rhineland-Palatinate was established in 1946. Today around
4 Million people live on its 20, 000 km². Economically
it is one of Germany’s leading states. Its export quote
is 40 percent, and it is an important region for chemical/pharmaceutical
production and wine growing, as well as being the seat of
many German television-stations. But the visitor isn’t
interested in facts and figures, he wants to experience Rhineland-Palatinate:
the wonderful country side, the warm and jovial folk, the
abundance of culture and leisure activities.
