"Where
does the Mosel meet the Rhine?" A frequently asked
question on TV quiz shows. The answer is of course Koblenz
!
The Rhein and Mosel energise
the town. Their energy pulses between the rivers, along the
promenades and into the many
cafés and bars. The two rivers unite at "Deutsches
Eck" (German corner), a sight which can be best enjoyed from
the impressive fort Ehrenbreitstein which overlooks the town.
Some cultural delicacies to be enjoyed in Koblenz are concerts
from the Rhine Philharmonic and cabaret evenings in Germany’s
leading comedy club.
If you take a boat trip to Koblenz from Mainz, after passing
the Rhine town of Bingen you’ll begin to weave your
way through the world heritage site of the Mittelrheintal
(middle-Rhine-valley). Koblenz marks the end of this most
scenic route.
