Wine, first brought here by the Romans, is now an integral part of life in Rhineland-Palatinate. Wine has not only made an impression on the region economically and agriculturally, but also culturally.
In the warmer months, there are wine festivals in almost every wine growing corner of the region and most vineyards offer wine tastings all the year round.

There are six major wine producing regions:

Ahrtal, Mittelrhein, Mosel-Saar-Ruwertal, Nahetal, Pfalz and Rheinhessen.
