Winter Sports

Winter sports fans don’t have to travel far in Rhineland-Palatinate. If the snow is good then you can find ski slopes and cross-country runs almost on your doorstep. In Hunsrück am Erbeskopf, you can find the regions highest mountain and the largest rhineland-palatinate winter sports-resort.

There’s also plenty of winter fun to be had in Bad Marienberg im Westerwald and in the Eifel.
But lack of snow doesn’t have to mean a lack of winter fun. If you are willing to trade your ski poles and sledges for skates you can find Eissporthallen (skating rinks) throughout the region: for example in Mainz, Bitburg, Diez, Zweibrücken, Trier, Neuwied, Ludwigshafen and Kaiserslautern
